Let's go snowshoeing at Kendall Ridge at Snoqualmie Pass. Elevation gain -1000, 4-5 miles round trip. Since there will most likely be fresh snow, we will snowshoe up the road 2-2.5 miles, have lunch, and then head back down. We will stay in low avalanche danger area.
This event is fine for beginners as long as you can hike Tiger Mtn at a moderate pace! Bring pack with 10 essentials, lunch, water, extra clothes, etc. For those new to snowshoeing, I strongly recommend bringing gaters to keep the snow out of your boots, if the snow is deep. If needed, REI has snowshoes to rent and gaters for purchase.
Vehicles need a Snow Park permit. There is a forest service office in North Bend to purchase a permit. Check WSDT for chain requirements in the pass.
We will meet in North Bend at 9:00am to carpool. Since there may be many vehicles we will meet in a park and ride in downtown North Bend, not my place. I will send directions. Add a message to your RSVP if you want to set up a carpool to North Bend.
