Any Stone Garden Fans or boulderes out there? That is where my membership is. My work schedule is changing so I get off at 7:30 instead of 9pm! :-) That means gym nights might be possible soon.

I'll be joining you guys in about a month. I am working on getting my strength up before joining you. I'll see you end of September-ish. Any ideas on what I should do about buying gear? Where to get it cheap? I don't even know what I need. Probably should just rent it the first few times. Also, how much does a membership cost at VW?

Strength is not needed... I've found that the only strength that really helps is grip strength, and the easiest way to develop that is just to climb more :)

For starters all you should need are shoes and a harness. They're not too expensive so if you really like climbing you might want to go ahead and just buy them. I'm not sure where are the best places to buy, but REI is always a good place to start.

Anyways, I'll be there tomorrow. If anyone shows up we can do some top rope stuff, but if not I'll probably spend my time bouldering.

I plan on being there around 6 - will look for you. I might just boulder but will bring rope etc.

the best way to build climbing strength is to climb!

Hi everyone...I am also a "west side" climber...and would love to join in. I am often looking for parteners to top rope with.
