Let's climb again Weds. nite starting at 5:30 (or whenever you can make it) till about 7:30/8ish.
Ask me about the special membership offer from Solid Rock for SDRC meetup members. $35.00 monthly, no initiation fee, good at any Solid Rock location.
Gym climbing makes you strong for outdoors, so come get a great workout, meetup with fellow climbers, and hatch your plans for your outdoor climbing trips.
Beginners welcome; look for me when you get there and I'll intro you to other members and, if you want, get you paired up with someone to climb with.

It's that time of the week again..... MONDAY!! That means it is time to meetup with your favorite Belay Buddy and get a GREAT workout!!!! You know, I read an article just the other week that said MONDAYS are the best day to starts (or REstart) your workouts. Why not? After all: IT'S MONDAY!!!! WOOOHOO!!! Note, please: When you get to VH, please identify yourself as a "meetup" person. When newer members come, this will help the gym staff point people out. If you don't recognize someone immediate, please ask the front desk staff to point out the meetup group. They know most of us and are super friendly and nice. (If, for some reason, they are not, please let me know!!) It feels aweful to go and try climbing for the first or second time and not to able to find anyone. After all, that IS the purpose of meetup. ***I changed the start time to 5. If you can't get there until 6, see above note.

I know it's early days yet but I figured I'd post the annual Halloween trip. I have been organizing this trip (in one form or another) for five years and it's always exciting (and spooky). Eeek! Bring your costumes, your pumpkins for carving, and it's pot luck on Saturday Night so bring something tasty. Last year I thought we should have a costume and carving competition so I might put that into effect also. I've booked two sites at Indian Cove and it's $5 per person for both nights. Carpool discussions to follow. Ben UPDATE! 10/06/09 This year the meetup group is having a contest of sorts. The contest theme is 80's Rock climbing! To enter it all you have to do is wear spandex. Because in the 80's every climber wore spandex! However to win the contest you have to find the ugliest spandex and wear it of course! There will also be an entrance fee of $1.oo to participate and the winner takes home the cash pot. The more people who play the more fun this will be! So start looking for that spandex!

Good Day to all!! Come on out to Callahans pub and brewery, enjoy the food, beverages and the company.
We (ACSD) have our monthly meetings here for many reasons. Good food, Great beverages, great conversation. These meetings are not like you average meetings. These are more a social event than a meeting. Come on over and introduce yourself to us, find out the lastest Beta on the local climbing areas.
ACSD also has a new guide book for El Cajon mtn, Eagle peak, and Corte Madera. These can be purchased along with a local climbers 2010 calendar. All proceeds used for keeping your crags open.
If you haven't been to one of our meetings, you should think about attending and find out what we are about. Hope to see you there

The Reel Rock Film Tour is coming to UCSD! On Friday, October 23rd UCSD will be showing the latest climbing video produced by Sender Films and Big Up Productions.
Entitled "Progression" this video features climbers and climbs from around the globe. Highlights will include, Alex Honnold's groundbreaking free solos of the 2,000 foot Regular Northwest Face of Half Dome and the 1,200 foot Moonlight Buttress in Zion! Tommy Caldwell's effort to free climb Mescalito, which is as of right now an aid route on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park! Also, Chris Sharma's send of Jumbo Love, the hardest route in the United States at 5.15b (unconfirmed) which is a mere 5 hours from San Diego! Plus, Kevin Jorgeson's highball/solo exploits in the Buttermilks of Bishop, California. This movie should not be missed for the rock climbing enthusiast! Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for general admission.

Climbing at the Gorge !(Thursday), I hope this works for the regulars. A friend said he has to work Wednesday, and I want to go to the Farmers Market in OB, so I moved it to Thursday.
