Hey Rock Climbing meetup!

Once again trying to take two newbie girlfriends out to Glen Cliffs for a somewhat mellow day on Sunday (one hour San Diego to base of climb, 15 minute approach) and am wondering if anyone who can give a lead belay would like to come? The hi should be 87F, but the cliff is east-facing, we’ll get afternoon shade (and a late-ish start :) ).

There's everything from 5.4 to 5.10d here, slabs.

Glen Cliffs is OPEN (http://www.alliedclim....

Angela,
I think you have the wrong impression of Glen Cliffs, it's not a sport climbing area like NJC or Holcomb V. , there are a couple of easy leads , but nothing worth the drive or the half hour aproach in 90 degree heat. The rest of the climbs are runout, some with a chance of ground fall. Another thing, there are Eagles nesting out there, I saw it first hand , eggs and all. I would recomend you take your friends to Holcomb, it's a long drive, but a great place for new climbers, and it will not be hot.
